  • ​Positive Working Environment

    • ​For actuaries who are self-employed, this does not apply.  But if I were working in a firm or at a insurance agency, this would be one of the most imporant things to me.  Having fair treatment and a good boss makes everything so much easier.  Working for someone you hate not only decreases your happiness, but also decreases the quality of your work.

  • ​Acheivment

    • ​Using my individual abilities is what I'd need to do if becoming an acutary.  It's important to me to be able to use those abilities, and being an actuary is a job that allow me to.

  • ​Mathematical/Financial

    • ​Actuarial science is all math. To become an actuary, you need to have an interest in math and be good at math.  Math has always been interesting to me, and I plan to keep succeeding in math throughout high school and right into college.

  • Information and Data Management

    • ​Data management is also very important to becoming an acutary.  Being able to do the math is just one of the qualities needed in an actuary.  You need to be able to understand the statistics and be able to sort, manage, and manipulate them successfully.  Data managment interests me greatly and is a skill I'll need to contiue to learn to become a successful actuary.
