Learn By Myself

Being able to learn by myself and do work by myself is an important quality to have. Many actuaries are self-employed and do not have the resources to be trained by another co-worker. Although, those that work specifically with insurance companies would have that resource.

-
Math by Seeing
-
Being able to do math without needing to talk through it is also important. Like stated before, not all actuaries have the human resources in their business to help them talk through a math problem.

Investigative

Do research for facts and analyzing data are two of the most important qualities for actuaries. Actuaries need all the statistics gathered, so they can then analyze those statistics and come out with a prediction/result of the risk.

Enterprising

This category does not deal with all actuaries. In some cases, actuaries run their own firms or are self-employed. This would then require the decision-making, leadership role of an enterprising person.

Conventional
-
For an actuary, being dependable, well organized, and doing the tasks right (following procedures) is how they gain and keep businesses. Actuaries, especially self-employed ones, need to have business relationships with their clients. Actuaries don't sell/offer things that you can put on a shelf that anyone can buy. They need that relationship and reputation to keep gaining and keeping businesses.
