Actuarial Exams
Those studying to become actuaries must take a series of at least ten exams until they can be considered a professional actuary/ASA (Associate of the Society of Acturaries). This process can take a 6-10 years, but can be started while in college. Some colleges even provide actuarial programs/courses that help prepare for the tests. The 10 tests given by the Society of Actuaries are:
1) Probability
2) Financial Mathematics
3) Models for Financial Economics
4) Models for Life Contingencies
5) Construction and Evaluation of Actuarial Models
6) Economics
7) Corporate Finance
8) Applied Statistics
9) Fundamentals of Actuarial Practice
10) Associateship Professionalism Course
